Normandy D-Day Tours

What can you expect from our tours?

We meet up at various places in the UK and head down to Portsmouth for an evening meal near the port. There will be introductions to the group and a chance to get to know each other then head for the overnight ferry. For those inexperienced in taking bikes onto ferries we will assist you. Once on the ferry we all meet up for a social drink and then retire to cabins for an overnight sleep.

Up early and off the ferry. 10 minutes ride to a Biscuiteri for coffee, croissants etc. We will visit a minimum of 2 places of interest, have lunch then ride along the coastal beaches. On arrival at the chateau there will be time for showers and pre-dinner drinks.

Each day will comprise of a ride to 3 or more sites of historical significance, some of the very best visitors centres and (one or two surprises) interspersed with riding some of the most beautiful roads and countryside Normandy can offer. Each day we cover around 50 -  100 miles.

If anyone has a particular place of interest they want to visit, we will always do our best to add it into the itinerary for them or help them with directions. We have visited loved ones' graves and even tracked down a bombed-out building made famous on film from an actual landing craft at Sword beach.

Home on the afternoon ferry, arrive Portsmouth in the evening.

Please be aware that we NEVER exceed the speed limits. We keep the group together using a leader and “tail end Charlie” who are in radio contact at all times. Should the group become separated (not happened yet!) we would bunch everyone up until we are all together again.

You are personally responsible for your own conduct and safety. Please be courteous and considerate to others at all times.
